Gambling: The most amazing experience for a human being or the worst nightmare ever
By Ernesto
Gambling could be considered by many the most beautiful gift given in their lives. For others, the most awful addiction they have ever faced. For me, it has been both.
You have to admitted; even if its placing $50 on your favorite pick on NFL Sunday, playing some hands of Black Jack, sharing a nice 10 seat table of no limit Texas Hold'em or betting with your friend on the bus station which one will be delayed; gambling has always produced one of the most exciting feelings ever.
However; all those stories of success, awesome trips, incredible women and never ending nights of lust, pleasure and action in Las Vegas have another dark, awful and some times even considered diabolic side.
They say that we have gambled since the beginning of times. Adam and Eve wagered our destiny by picking that apple. I am not much in to religious stuff, but I do agree that gambling has always existed. Even centuries ago, I guarantee you that in the Roman Coliseum some bookie was running from here to there taking picks and offering odds on the best Gladiator or in how much time will the Lion kill the poor skinny Egyptian.
Now days; gambling is everywhere. Everyone talks about: how it should be eliminated, prohibited, expanded, regulated, etc. Its quite disturbing and a lot of people are tired of the same stories about compulsive, underage and not regulated wagers.

The point is, why don't just let it be? You may talk about it for millenniums and none of those 3 subjects will be solved.
Compulsive gambling: As ugly as it may sound, it has to be one of the worst addictions ever. People gambling in such a degenerate way that they will not even consider their family's food or their children's college funds and even causing people make all sorts of crimes in order to satisfy that urge for just one more bet. Its so sad, but regardless of how awful it is, its a reality just as hunger and poverty in the world. It will not disappear. This disease is simple; some people can gamble others cannot. The ones who cannot must make a deep study of them selves and admit they have a problem that must be taken care of.
